CF cross section extensions

New cross sections of the special cables for the top drive

Operational safety in the onshore and offshore sector

The chainflex® control cable CFSPECIAL.572.25.37 and motor cable CFSPECIAL.572.40.07 have been added to the range of cables for the maritime sector. They have been specially developed and tested for top drive, i.e. for applications on onshore and offshore drilling rigs. This means that igus® now offers 9 chainflex cables specifically for top drive applications. These are available from stock and from a length of 1m. Protected by a robust, jet-black PUR outer jacket with aramid support elements, they are MUD-resistant in accordance with NEK 606. In combination with the igus e-loop, this cable series offers the highest level of safety that is required on drilling rigs. As drilling has to be carried out in extreme environments, it involves high costs and large investment sums.
