Rehabilitation systems

From therapy system for gait training to bath and stair lifts for seniors: high loads at the bearing points in fluent movements are just as important as the maximum service life at low acquisition and maintenance costs and the reliable guiding of various electrical cables or additional media. igus® e-chain systems® and chainflex® cables offer these advantages just like the drytech® plain bearing technology.
Rehabilitation systems
Typical areas of use are: Lead screw modules for bathtub or patient lifts, folding mechanisms and brakes in the case of mobile lifting and bathing systems, moving clamps of the drive unit in the case of stair lifts, diverse pivoting movements of levers/mechanisms. Locking mechanisms or seats on stair lifts, power supply for stair lifts, operating, lifting, locking and fall-prevention systems for wheelchair lifts, setting of controls and seat/backrest surfaces in the case of movement trainers or fitness equipment at home or in the studio, guidance of electric power or signal cables for movement trainers that support patients mechanically when they move.

Advantages of igus® products in rehabilitation systems:

Corrosion-free

Resistant to edge loads

Clean

High load capacity

No stick-slip

Small bend radii and only little installation space needed

Application examples in rehabilitation systems

Therapy robot

The therapy robot helps patients to walk again after an operation. The robot does not simply limit this to level paths, but also simulates complex paths.
