Guide troughs for long travels

Guide trough is used in long travels where the e-chain® glides (according to chain type from 5m-12m). They support the smooth low friction operation of the igus energy chains and energy tubes. If the fixed end is installed at the centre of the travel ("centre-fixed"), the energy chains glide on themselves for half the travel. For the other half, we recommend glide bars installed in the trough, on which the e-chains glide. Guide troughs have glide bars made of highly abrasion-resistant plastic (exception RS - glide surface steel).

Alu SuperTroughs

Basic design for general mechanical engineering. Heavy-duty version for plant construction.

Material of the side parts: aluminium

Aluminium SuperTrough - The igus standard for guide troughs

  • Construction kit system in two versions - basic and heavy duty
  • Very simple, modular assembly
  • Glide strips for abrasion protection at high speed
  • Corrosion-resistant, seawater-resistant aluminium profile
  • Flexible assembly - fastening on substructure independent of profile lengths and butt joints
  • Interface connector - plastic with snap-lock mechanism
  • Polymer glide bar made of high-molecular-weight PE
  • Bottom clamp attached either inwards or outwards - directly on the surface or on the C-profile
  • Conductivity according to DIN EN 61537 - standard
  • Glide strips and a rubber profile that can be inserted for minimising operation noise
  • Bottom clamp for a secure hold even in demanding applications
  • Fixed-end module allows for fast and easy fastening of the e-chain fixed end to the super aluminium trough without drilling

Tubular trough RS system

Lets light and dirt through

The igus tubular troughs are simple and reasonable options to safely guide e-chains®. Recommended for less demanding applications and applications with travel speeds less than 2m/s, as well as travel distances less than 50m.
  • For application areas where dirt or chips occur - the waste simply falls through the spaces
  • No difficult setting of the correct width - the fitting spacers are delivered with the complete order

The igus snap-in trough is an easy to install, space-saving, cost-effective trough system for applications up to 50m long.
