chainfix strain relief: clamps

Strain relief for cables in energy chains with clamps and stacker elements

The principle of clamps as strain relief has proven very successful for cables in energy chains. Clamps are a suitable means of strain relief for all energy chains with a KMA mounting bracket and C-rail option.

Product range and materials

  • Steel clamp: clamp and screw black painted steel
  • Stainless steel clamp: clamp and screw: blank (material 1.4301)
  • Stacker elements: bottom saddle and stacker saddle (igumid G material)
  • C-profiles: steel (material galvanised steel) or stainless steel (material 1.4301) available

Chainfix clamps - mounted safely and even faster

  • Up to 15mm lower installation height than that of conventional clamps thanks to optimised housing height
  • Up to 3.5 times the force absorption of conventional clamps
  • Easy to read the part number and mark indicating the correct installation direction
  • Space and time-saving assembly
  • Improved base for easier fit into the C-profile
  • Simple assembly with threaded pins screwed with an Allen wrench
  • Durability for dynamic applications with improved stacker elements
  • Integrated ribs on the stacker elements prevent the cables from coming loose from the strain relief

Please note:

  • Ideally, cables should be fixed at both ends of the energy chain. In any case, they must be attached at the energy chain's moving end!
  • Using chainfix clamps on C-profiles in the mounting bracket for series 280, 2828, 290, 2928, R770, and R7728 requires a shortened bottom saddle. For shortened bottom saddles, add "K" to the part number. Example: Part No. CFX12.1K
Chainfix offers reduced installation height through set screw and optimal housing height

Overall height

If the energy chain glides over itself on long travels, screw heads on the strain relief element at the chain's fixed end must be at least 10mm from the top of the energy chain. As a result, many strain relief elements described here may be unsuitable for use at the fixed ends of long energy chains. Our clamps with threaded screws, developed specifically for low installation heights, have an installation height that is up to 15mm lower than that of conventional clamps. Strain relief elements can always be safely used for unsupported energy chains.
