Milling at lightning speed
This CNC machine mainly mills polystyrene. This results in a large number of small particles
which become lodged in all parts of the
machine due to their electrostatic charge. Conventional linear guides and bearings
become clogged over time and require a
great deal of servicing. Now that the manufacturer
has started using a lubricant-free
drylin® linear guide system on all three axes,
maintenance work is outdated. In addition,
the milling machine achieved speeds of up to
50,000 mm/min on the X- and Y-axis thanks
to the excellent gliding properties of the
system.
