The purpose of this EMS Manual is to:

  • Provide a clear statement of the igus® Environmental Management System (EMS) and the methods by which conformance is assured;
  • Help interested parties navigate their way through the igus® Environmental Management System (EMS);
  • Establish a concise reference of practices and procedures for the Environmental Management System (EMS) at igus®;
  • Indicate how each of the clauses in ISO 14001:2015 are addressed in the company’s EMS and how compliance to its requirements is achieved;
  • Identify and designate personnel who will be responsible for ensuring that Environmental Management System (EMS) standards are maintained.

Environmental Policy

igus® recognises the importance of conducting business and managing environmental issues in a responsible manner. We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and preventing pollution. igus® strives to conduct business whilst trying to minimise our impact on the environment and committing to our customers’ requirements.
Therefore, we use the following principles to guide our efforts:
• Continue to resource out Environmental Management System (EMS) to meet the standards of the ISO 14001 certification;
• Conduct operations in an environmentally sound manner and in compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and other requirements to which the company subscribes;
• Meet or exceed compliance obligations including legal requirements and other requirements applicable to igus®;
• To implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce energy consumption;
• To reduce waste production as far as is practicable and to increase waste recycling rates;
• Pursue continuous improvement in our environmental performance through the annual development and consistent evaluation of the environmental Objectives and Targets;
• Implement and audit operational control measures to mitigate the identified significant environmental aspects;
• Increase environmental awareness and regularly promote environmental responsibility among employees;
• Clearly communicate relevant environmental policies, practices, and impact to interested parties.
